The RapidEye AG is a provider of customized geo-information products and services to businesses active in agriculture and forestry, energy, communication, as well as cartography and government.

From the company’s headquarters in Brandenburg, Germany, RapidEye™ is set to operate a constellation of five identical earth observation satellites which make up an imaging system capable of collecting multi-spectral image data at high resolution. The system covers more than 4 million square kilometers per day, and its imaging capability reaches any point on Earth.

With its infrastructure - consisting of a ground processing center, expert personnel, and the satellite constellation - RapidEye can offer clients a full service that starts with a personalized consultation and ends with a customized solution.

The RapidEye business concept.

The RapidEye business concept was created by the German space engineering company Kayser-Threde GmbH in conjunction with the German Space Agency (DLR). Its seed financing RapidEye received from the Vereinigte Hagelversicherung, Germany’s largest agro-insurance company, the DLR, as well as the private sector.

RapidEye stands apart from other providers of geospatial information. Owning and controlling a five-satellite constellation, RapidEye has a unique ability to acquire high-resolution, large-area image data on a daily basis and to deliver customer-oriented information solutions.
