Alone in space: Unmanned experiments.
Following months of planning, development and numerous tests in preparation of a journey into space the most exciting moments of the whole project can begin. Once the countdown has ended, there is no turning back and no chance to make any more last minute changes. Already during the launch everything on board the satellite is put to a final test. The equipment must withstand enormous vibrations. Hardly in orbit and completely dependent on itself, the satellite takes up its work program during its flight around the earth. All experiments must start on command and be carried out automatically. This is an indication for the enormous demands placed on the reliability of the instruments and the systems.
Not a package tour: manned research missions.
No two experiments are the same. This is why scientists require ongoing support on an individual basis right from the first idea through the successful completion of a mission.

Kayser-Threde develops experiments in close cooperation with the scientists, manages production and tests, and acts as an interface to the operators of the space stations. Furthermore, Kayser-Threde trains the astronauts on ground, provides a smooth communication link with the crew in space, and is responsible for data transmission and the complete logistics of the mission. One might call Kayser-Threde a full-service "travel agent" for destinations beyond the earth's atmosphere.
