It was in 1967 in Munich that Axel Schmalz began to put his entrepreneurial ideas into practice; this was the beginning of the success story of Kayser-Threde. Not long thereafter, Reiner Klett joined him and the two began a partnership which has proven itself. They combined their special know-how and enthusiasm with the talents of their many excellent colleagues to create a formidable team. Today Kayser-Threde is a renowned specialist for the development and production of complex systems for aerospace engineering, for scientific research and for numerous applications on earth.

With subsidiaries and offices in Germany and abroad, Kayser-Threde's services range from studies and analyses, over product development and manufacture to test series and the implementation of missions.

From the very first day, quality, reliability and service were given top priority. Little wonder that in 1994 Kayser-Threde was the first German aerospace company to be awarded an ISO 9001 certificate.

Much has changed since the company was founded: the economic conditions, the technical opportunities and the political environment. What has remained are the dedication, the creativity and last but not least the willingness of all employees to adapt to new challenges. These characteristics together with the team spirit and the company's highly qualified staff are what enable Kayser-Threde to consistently come up with the right solutions to the complex challenges posed by modern science and technology.

Since June 2007 Kayser-Threde belongs to OHB Technology AG listed on the Prime Standard (ISIN: DE0005936124). The OHB Group’s market position and customer access are significantly strengthened by this transaction, improving the realization of further potential for development.
