2nd KAP Customer Day: A Look-out into the Future
More than
80 attendees from all over Europe participated at the 2nd
KAP Customer Day held on Nov 19th and 20th at Kayser-Threde
Main Office, Munich. During two days the experimenters and
the launcher authorities had ample opportunity to discuss
the programmatic goals and the technical details towards
the mission planned onboard Vega end 2009 and/or onboard
SOYUZ/FREGAT in 2010. Moreover the participants gained the
results of the Call for Interest published via ESA EMITS
News during the “Experiments
Session”. An overall overview of the system performances
and interfaces was presented. The event has been combined with
the 1st TET Customer Day. With TET, Kayser-Threde is having
another opportunity for IOD demonstration using a free-flying
platform.
The 2nd
KAP Customer Day offered an ideal platform for discussing
the technical possibilities about IOD services and solutions.
Assembled within the modern atmosphere of Bavaria`s biggest
space company, the experimenters gave an interesting overview
across a broad bandwidth of potential candidates for the
first KAP mission.During the experimenter’s sessions
for KAP and TET-1, the potential customers of flight opportunities
had a reasonable time to discuss their requests. The fruitful
discussions during the first day finalized with a social event:
A traditional Bavarian evening with typical Bavarian dishes
and music. So there was not only a time for exchanging news
and information but also for small-talk. Thus both days got
off to a good start and a very successful conclusion.
